Dam desilting rebate now available!
Does your dam need desilting? Did you know, the Queensland Government Department of Agriculture and Fisheries (DAF) now provides a rebate of up to 25 per cent of the contractor’s cost to desilt your dam? The Dam Desilting Rebate is available to those of you on drought declared properties, up to a maximum of $25,000 per Property Identification Code (PIC), per financial year, ending 30 June 2021.
Before paying for the eligible dam desilting activities, producers must provide an Australian Dam Desilting Statement (DDS) that includes photos of the dam, a map of your property and a quote for undertaking the dam desilting. This statement must then be endorsed by a DAF officer who will outline the cost that will be considered for rebate.
These claims can also be backdated to 1 July 2018. If you undertook dam desilting between 1 July 2018 and 6 April 2019 when the scheme started, you do not need to have the pre-approved DDS mentioned above. You can lodge both your DDS and application form with the DAF directly.
For a full listing of the guidelines, as well as access to the Dam Desilting Statement and application form visit https://www.daf.qld.gov.au/business-priorities/agriculture/disaster-recovery/drought/assistance-programs/australian-dam-desilting-rebate.
This forms part of the Australian Government’s On-Farm Emergency Water Infrastructure Rebate. A maximum of $25,000 can be accessed through this rebate.
